Kenya’s second largest freshwater lake, Lake Naivasha is a Birder’s Dream! You have to see it, to believe it.

With an abundance in wildlife and birdlife alike, and being just over an hour away from Nairobi, it’s no wonder why Lake Naivasha is so popular. A birding tour to this lake is a must!

The most productive of all of the Great Rift Valley lakes and at a size of 139 km², Lake Naivasha is a vital life source for not only the huge amount of wildlife but for the many people that call this beautiful lake home. Lake Naivasha has been providing people a decent living for thousands of years, where originally the lake and the surrounding land was owned by the Masai tribe; and in fact the actually name of Naivasha is derived from the Masai word for ‘rough waters’.

The best part about the lake though, is of course, the abundance of birds! The high productivity of lake allows many bird species to thrive here, with over 300 species recorded.

Join us on an unforgettable Birding Tour at the beautiful Lake Naivasha!
