Etosha National Park, Namibia’s most renowned park, is simply brimming with wildlife and has exceptional birding opportunities. The park’s dry season from April to October is perfect for game viewing, while the rainy season from November to March showcases the best birdlife. At the heart of Etosha lies the expansive Etosha Pan, covering about 4800 square kilometers. This ancient salt pan was once a vast lake fed by the Kunene River in Angola, now an expanse of sand, salt springs, and clay hillocks. In wet years, the pan transforms into rainwater pools or a shallow lake, attracting migrating flamingos in the thousands.
