Despite its location outside a designated national park, Ankober holds esteemed status as one of Ethiopia’s premier birding havens. Nestled within the Ethiopian Highlands, this area ascends to an elevation of 8,100 feet. Notably, Ankober is revered for hosting sought-after endemic speices – Ankober Serin and Yellow-throated Seedeater. It’s also a great site to see the Verreaux’s Eagle and the awe-inspiring Lammergeier.
